Pratt-Thomas Building - Exterior
PROJECT DETAILS
New construction of a 45,000sf steel office building. Hightower served as the general contractor for this challenging project. In addition to constructing the base building, Hightower was also retained to construct the 13,000sf tenant updift for Pratt-Thomas Gumb and the 4,300sf upfit for Maybank Shipping, and has since been responsible for upfitting all of the remaining space. Hightower self-performed all concrete work as well as installation of the IPE wood truss and grille features surrounding the building.
Building "C" - Exterior
PROJECT DETAILS
This project consisted of building a 92,000sf steel frame building (Building "C") as well as renovations to existing buildings "A" and "B". Built for the Department of State, Hightower self-performed all of the concrete work as well as miscellaneous work. Turned over ahead of schedule, Hightower received a Pinnacle Award in 2004 for this project.
St. John Cathedral Rest. - Exterior

As general contractor of the restoration and steeple, Hightower not only oversaw the project, but also fabricated the new steeple in-house. The Restoration included replacement and refurbishing of the exterior brownstone, repointing, painting and systems. The new steeple addition consisted of structural steel, ornate copper work, architectural precast concrete and fiberglass composite. The steeple design was unique therefore fluid communication between the architect and builder was critical. Primarily for this reason, Hightower's Design Team and Construction Crew took on the challenge to ensure final quality.

City Market Rehabilitation - Shed B East Entrance

Charleston City Market Rehabilitation Phase I. This project was accelerated into 4 months and through hard work and team mentality, we were on time and on budget. We were privileged to have the opportunity to revitalize a historic landmark that gives back to our community. Phase I was a complete revitalization of the 3 open air sheds closest to East Bay St. Completed work included repointing of all masonry, structural & aesthetic wood repairs, tile roof repair, addition of shops,vendor counters & bathrooms, repainting of all surfaces, and new electrical & mechanical systems.
163 Rutledge - Exterior
PROJECT DETAILS
163 Rutledge Avenue is a 27,000sf medical office building. It is a steel frame building consisting of stucco, masonry and hardi-plank skin with a membrane roof. Noteable is a four-story glass wall system at the front elevation with masonry walls and and aluminum windows on the remaining elevations. Hightower self-performed all concrete and miscellaneous carpentry work.
Bella Vista Condominiums - BEFORE
PROJECT DETAILS
Built in the middle of downtown Charleston, Bella Vista Condominiums is a 300,000 sf, eight story complex consisting of 108 units (ranging from 900 sf to 2500 sft), a 170 space parking garage and two retail spaces. The shell structure consists of post tension concrete with a masonry and stucco skin. Foundation construction
consists of over 400 prestress concrete piles with conventional pile caps, grade beams and slab on grade. Hightower served as General Contractor and project completed in Aug. 2008.
Bella Vista Condominiums - AFTER - Bee St. Exterior

Bulls Bay Clubhouse - Bulls Bay Exterior
PROJECT DETAILS
Hightower was responsible for the design, overall project management and construction of the clubhouse and cart barn. Hightower teamed with Berenyi, Inc. as design-build partners to provide a turn-key project for the ownership of Bulls Bay Golf Club. Panoramic views of the course are possible since the clubhouse was constructed on a man made hill over 60' tall.
C17 Hangar - Entrance
PROJECT DETAILS
A 175,000sf hangar was built by Hightower that has the ability to house a C17 plane. It is a Butler structural steel building that includes 1500 tons of structural steel, 12,000 cubic yards of concrete in foundations and slabs, and has a 90' eave height with 200' clear span.

As general contractor on this Santee Cooper project, Hightower is responsible for the overall project management and construction to bring the turbine and coal silo buildings from the existing concrete matee through all enclosure materials.
IFR - Front
PROJECT DETAILS
Indoor Firearms Range at the FLETC Built for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center on the former Naval Base in Charleston, Hightower constructed the 42,000sf fully enclosed firing range facility. It features restrooms with shower facilities and storage for range equipment.
Jackson Davenport - Lobby
PROJECT DETAILS
This project consisted of rebuilding and new construction of a retail optical store on the first floor and nine condo units on the floors above. Hightower self-performed all concrete work as well as restoration work (millwork) and installation of exterior railings and cornice.
OT Wallace Building - Front Entrance
PROJECT DETAILS
As general contractor Hightower supervised the complete interior and exterior renovation of the 100,000sf office building. Interior work included demolition of existing and erection of new partitions, new sprinkler, mechanical, and electrical systems, new systems furniture, structural concrete and masonry work. Exterior work included replacement of 200 windows, painting, new entrance, roofing, rooftop, and mechanical equipment.
